The final SYMPATH project meeting was held on 5-7 July 2017 and hosted by the coordinator AFFiRiS in Vienna. 24 representatives from all 8 project partner institutions attended the meeting together with 4 members of the scientific and ethics advisory boards.
All work package leaders had the opportunity to provide an overview of their progress over the past 45 months of the project and highlight in particular their plans for the final 3 months and beyond. Ample discussion time was provided to ensure that all issues were addressed and a clear roadmap was established for a successful conclusion to the project.
As the project moves towards its conclusion, a prominent theme during the meeting was the accomplishments already seen by the project and how to capitalise on these beyond the end of the project. The meeting was characterised by lively discussion between SYMPATH partners and the project advisory board members and the genuine enthusiasm to ensure the lasting impact of the project.
