João Frade brings 9 years of academic research experience at top European institutes to biolution. He likes to be involved in multidisciplinary collaborative projects and thus is always happy to tackle new challenges and to motivate people that surround him.
At biolution, João supports the team in providing grant consultancy to clients for EU-funded projects. This includes active discussions with scientists in order to improve their research proposals for a successful outcome. His broad scientific interests and the capacity to integrate and communicate diverse complex questions, allied with a generous and cooperative character, are an advantage for the team.
João has a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and Aarhus University (Denmark). He obtained his PhD in Biomedicine at the CRG/UPF in Barcelona (Spain) under the supervision of Maria Pia Cosma. He then continued as a postdoctoral researcher in the groups of Frederic Lluis at SCIL-KULeuven (Belgium) and Kikuë Tachibana at IMBA (Austria). He then decided to contribute with his skillset to help other scientists in funding, managing and sharing their research.
João is a Project Assistant at biolution and has contributed to advice and follow EU-funded projects such as ERC and ITN.
